Madeleine Sutter was once the belle of the ball at the popular resort town of Misty Lake, New York. But as the sole survivor of the community’s worst tragedy, she’s come under suspicion. Doctor Jace Merrick has fled the failures and futility of city life to start anew in rural Misty Lake. A man of science, he rejects the superstitious chatter surrounding Maddie and finds himself drawn to her confidence and beauty. And when she seduces him into a sham engagement, he agrees to be her ticket back into society, if she supports his new practice—and reveals the details of her remarkable recovery. This has been an exquisite read for me!

Maddie has been an outcast on her own town for the past three years, ever since a terrible wagon accident in which four girls were found dead. Among them, Maddie, too. But to the doctor and the whole town's surprise, she didn't stay dead. In fact, when she suddenly opened her eyes, everyone assumed she was resurrected. But, her severely injured and broken leg would leave her unable to walk again, according to the doctor's sayings. So, when she started walking again, through her own struggling, everyone started believing that miracles don't happen twice, and all this must have been the work of the devil.

In a small town like that the rumors spread fast, and everyone started viewing Maddie as a nuisance to the peacefulness of their town. She lost her friends, her fiance and her place in the small society.

But Maddie, has an even deeper secret. Ever since she awoke after this accident, she has been able to heal other beings.

When Jace, the new doctor of the town finally arrives, is immediately intrigued by the young woman, even after asking around and realizing how infamous she is. Her rare case intrigues him even more, but his effort on getting direct information from her has been futile.

With the wedding ball of one of her friends approaching, one where Maddie has been invited to, she must find an escort so that she won't have to face the pity of her neighbors.

She then decides to strike a deal with Jace: She will offer him more information about the accident and help him set up his new office, while he will pretend to be her fiance and escort her to the ball.

But, what they never counted on affecting them, was the intense attraction between them. And, Maddie's deep secret, too!

This was a very passionate novel with a very intriguing story!

Maddie was a very strong young woman, who, taking into account all the tragedies she had to go through, that changed her life to the core, managed to cope in a much better way than anyone would have anticipated!

Jace was a bold young man who completely had my attention since the very beginning.

The author's easily flowing writing style made the novel an even better read, I completely enjoyed.

All in all, 4,5 stars to a unique and passionate read
that narrated the story of one particularly brave and gifted heroine.

Book Tour {Review} -- Hark---A Christmas Collection by Justin Bog

Hark---A Christmas Collection . . .
By Justin Bog
Genre: Fiction, Short Stories

Book Description:
A beautifully written collection of short stories from critically acclaimed Pacific Northwest writer Justin Bog, Hark explores the range of emotions surrounding the holidays. From melancholy to madness, loss and despair to hope and forgiveness, these six tales shimmer with feelings, some we'd rather stuff away, that Christmas can evoke.
Set in colorful locations around the United States, from Anacortes, Washington, to Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Sun Valley, Idaho, each tale focuses on people who struggle to make good choices, learn lessons, and maybe even find peace during the holiday season.
A bonus story, Poseidon Eyes, from Booktrope's upcoming reissue of Sandcastle and Other Stories---The Complete Edition, is included.

My Review:

This is an unusual Christmas collection of short stories! The author successfully showed another side of the Christmas season, narrating the stories of some people that don't particularly feel the hype the of this time of year!

More specifically, Hark tells the story of a former police officer who is now confined to a wheel chair after an incident in the line of duty. He tends to be thinking about all the dreams he had before he became handicapped and is melancholic during Christmas time. But his wife, Colleen, and the bond they have formed has significantly helped him become more peaceful and think less of the accident and more about this joyful time of year!

In Seducing Santa,  Laura has been fantasizing about Santa ever since she can remember herself and never gets too close with anyone for more than one night. The strongest example is Elton, a man ten years older than her, with a white beard, and a plump belly, whom when she meets she can't help but feel an instant attraction, but not for more than one night...

Bracelet tells the story of Callie, a widowed teacher who is about to lose her job, and to top all of her sadness she has lost her sister's present, the bracelet. She starts her quest of finding the very important bracelet, and in the end finds it in one of the most important places!

In Everyone Wants Me To, Arlene flies back home with her mother, a fact she deeply dislikes, as she prefers living with her grandmother! This short novel narrates the current story of Arlene and her parents, Marion and Barry, as well as the background ones of the parents! An interesting combination of a number of events and stories!

Snow Globe narrates the story of a gay community and the struggles they go through, as not everyone is as accepting! But, will this year's Christmas time prove to be different?

In The Heralds, Ken has been starting feeling ill, and knowing he suffers from a disease in his esophagus, he visits his doctor, without telling his wife Carmel! But even if his disease is getting worse he is determined to live his life to the fullest and nothing is going to stop him from dressing up with his wife as Mr. Claus and Mrs. Claus this year!

In the end of the book, a bonus content, Poseidon Eyes, was included. In this short story, Melanie loves the water so much, she prefers living her life into the sea, apart from everyone else. When she was a little girl she had a run-in with a strange man, resulting in her getting Pseidon Eyes, which meant her eye sight changed, making her see everyone as different kinds of fish! After years of unsuccessful psychotherapy, her almost drowning made her see human beings as they really are. But, what about the strange man who reappears to wish her happy birthday?

This anthology proved to be a quite unique read, giving us a different glimpse of Christmas through the eyes of various people that face different problems and find hope in the things that are most important to them!

All in all, 4 stars for this unique chance to read
about a different side of Christmas time!

Donna’s dream of running a Victorian Bed and Breakfast is almost a reality. Her lack of inn keeping expertise, a shabby house in need of dire renovation and lack of money has slowed her down a bit. The murdered man in the upstairs parlor is her biggest obstacle. Less determined people might give it up, but not Donna.  No killer is going to stop her from serving apple crumb cake to high paying guests.

EXCERPT

The strident alarm announced five AM vibrating with vicious vigor on the bedside table. Its annoying shriek would pierce the heaviest stupor sleep could produce. Her eyes blinked slowly focusing on the red numerals. It continued its wail until she slapped it into silence. Daniel gifted her with the clock on her last birthday, joking it could wake the dead.

The murdered man took shape in the predawn darkness. He was standing beside her bed, looking just as lifeless, but standing. His bowed head straightened, and his eyes opened, and he stretched out his open hands toward her. His lips moved. A whispery voice choked out the words, “Find my killer.”

Fear strapped her to the bed, keeping her in place better than a dozen bungee cords. The specter’s pale blue eyes held hers, imploring her, although she felt there was some imperiousness about his attitude. Definitely had to be a doctor in his previous life or some other profession where he ordered people around, and they all scurried to his bidding.

An honest to goodness ghost, a real live spirit—she paused to consider if spirits merited the adjective live or whatever—stood by her bed issuing commands. Her fingers gripped the covers, slowly pulling them up her chest, then over her head, cutting off her view of the glowing ghost. He had to be glowing. How else would she see him in the dark or the color of his eyes? Of course, it could all be the tail end of a dream brought on by a very stressful day. There might have never been a murdered man in her inn either. Her lips pursed as she considered the possibilities. What if she never had purchased the old Victorian? Of course, there’d be no Detective Taber, and she’d still be welcome at The Good Egg restaurant.

The alarm grumbled again, starting weak and growing in irritating intensity. Work remained a constant. It also demanded she lower the covers. It had taken years to rate the primo first shift rotation. Unfortunately, it started early in the morning. Technically, it started at seven, but she had to be there at six-thirty to get the shift change information along with enough time for a cup of coffee.

Her mattress depressed somewhere near her leg freezing her heart in mid-beat. A gentle snuffling sound started it again. Jasper, her dog, often took it upon himself to be the second alarm system. With closed eyes, she dropped the covers afraid if she opened them, her unwelcome visitor would still be there. Jasper’s tongue bathed her face while encasing her in a cloud of smelly dog breath. Ack, he really needed breath mints. Her eyelids flickered open, taking in the shape of her dog illuminated only by the glowing clock and the power lights from various chargers. Her hand reached blindly behind her, finding the clock and turning it off.

No ghost anywhere in the dark room, but just to be sure, she announced, “I’ll find your killer. Not for you, mind you, but for me. I don’t want that kind of thing attached to my inn.” No reason to have some dead man bossing her around. She had enough of that in real life.

MY REVIEW

When 50-year-old Donna buys a new house, planning to turn it into an inn, she never expected to find a man dead in one of her rooms.
A man not just dead, but murdered, too!

With the investigation going through her house, will she be able to finish her preparations and have her inn ready soon enough? Having those thoughts and being anxious about her plans, she starts investigating the murder with Mark, the detective who has been assigned to the case, and the help of her octogenarian neighbor and Donna's overweight dog!

This was an unusual story, I fully enjoyed reading about.
I particularly loved Donna, the protagonist.

She is a determined woman, who has seen her share of life and knows what she wants! When left at the altar at the young age of 22 she decided to never get married. Now, at the age of 50, I would expect her to seem a little older, but surprisingly she did not! Her way of thinking was quite refreshing, and I loved so much the way she stands by her beliefs and decisions. She has set her mind on making her new house into an inn, and won't settle for anything else!

I also loved Mark! He is clever and witty, even if Donna disapproves of a few of his unhealthy habits!

The way the author wrote this story was lovely, emphasizing what a witty heroine Donna was, as well as giving as crystal clear impressions of the rest of the people involved!

A murder mystery so well planned and narrated! I completely loved the fact that in the solving of the mystery not only detectives were involved, but also everyday people - and animals! Also, the unexpected twists and turns would just get me on the edge of my seat, another way in which this story amazed me!

All in all, 4 stars to a murder mystery, which involved a detective
and a very stubborn, very determined and awesome nurse!

Book Tour {Review, Teasers & Giveaway} -- Fahrenheit (Fahrenheit #1) by Alex Rosa

Fahrenheit Synopsis:
Lauren Michaels is exhausted with the push and pull of copy editing for Los Angeles’s woman’s magazine, Frenzy, which caters to pop culture, style, and above all, sex.

She wants to write for the magazine rather than edit, but her boss is convinced that Lauren’s conservative tendencies won’t fit in with the risqué nature of what Frenzy is about.

Convinced to make her mark, Lauren begs for the chance to prove herself.

Her mission? To investigate the growing popularity of sex clubs in Los Angeles, and figure out how the sensual underworld functions.

Out of her element, Lauren starts her search with pen and paper in hand at a local sex shop, hoping she’ll find a trail that leads to the lairs of sex and fetishes. Instead, it leads her to Nathan Sanders. He’s daunting, charming, and a little too dark and mysterious for her taste, but Lauren knows he’s what she needs as her way in.

What she doesn’t see coming is that Nathan is all too willing to invite her to a nightclub she’s only ever heard stories about, and also the fact that Nathan know’s Lauren doesn’t have a clue what she’s getting herself into.

This could be fun, they said. There’s no harm in it, they agreed.

Little do they know, a little research can serve up some unexpected results.

My Review:

This book was just amazing! Fun, witty, smart, steamy and down-right hilarious at points, it had me all reeled in a chaos of feelings right from the very first chapter! I even laughed out loud in many occasions, something that started happening even from the second page.

Lauren has been working for her magazine as a print editor for quite a while. But, she has gotten bored of it. So, when a promotion is offered to her by her boss and friend, she is quick to grasp the rare chance. The only thing she has to do in order to get it is to write an article. But, not just any article. No. One that requires her doing some investigation of Los Angeles' secret sex clubs.

Her venture into an adult shop ends up with her meeting the mysterious Nate, who by the end of their witty exchange had already invited her to Fahrenheit, the most exclusive, private club, one everyone had heard of, but no one knew exactly what it was!

From then on, an emotional ride starts for both heroes and readers.
Nate helps Lauren not only get satisfaction, but gradually find herself, too. I loved the natural way this happened, and the fact that it wasn't easy, but took effort from both parts.

Everything, exceptionally written by the author!

I loved the characters.

The always neat and controlled Lauren who steps out of her comfort zone when she meets Nate. She was clever, smart, witty, and determined to go all the way in everything she does! I deeply admired her for that!
We were actually given so much insight to her personality and her way of thinking, especially since she was the one narrating the story.

Her "Batman", the nickname she used for him in order to ensure his anonymity (one of the basic rules for Fahrenheit members), mysterious, handsome and deeply challenging.

I even liked the rest of the characters. All of them had so much unexpected depth.

All in all, 5 stars for an amazing story, I fully enjoyed reading!

About TEASED:

The Hunter For almost a century, the Realm’s most deadly assassin, Chalton Reese, has left war and death in the past, turning instead to strategy, reason, and technology. A woman with eyes like emeralds, a brain to match his own, and a passion that might destroy them both—if the enemy on their heels doesn’t do so first.

The Hunted Olivia Roberts has foregone relationships with wimpy metro-sexuals in favor of pursuing a good story, bound and determined to uncover the truth, any truth. When her instincts start humming about missing proprietary information, she has no idea her search for a story will lead her to a ripped, sexy, and dangerous male beyond any human man. Setting aside the unbelievable fact that he’s a vampire and she’s his prey, she discovers that trusting him is the only chance they have to survive the danger stalking them both.

black and white portrait of young lovers

         MY REVIEW:

I don't even know where to start from! This novella included everything!

A feisty, strong and very clever heroine, a dark, brooding and extremely tempting hero, the palpable attraction between them, so much action right from the beginning, vampires, shifters, Kurjans (I had no idea what that was, either, before reading this story), passion and a great ethical dilemma the heroine had to go through.

But, let's get first things first...

Olivia is a journalist that has stumbled across a potential discovery that could prove extremely beneficial for her best friend Ronni who is gradually dying of a heart disease. Her source has claimed the existence of another species, more evolved and quite stronger, with 30 pairs of chromosomes on their DNA, instead of the normal 23. But, her information has threatened too many important people, resulting in her being hunted by humans, vampires, shifters and the aforementioned Kurjans!

Chalton, a vampire who has previously been involved in too many wars, to the point that is now sick of guns and prefers to work behind a computer, has been sent by the King of the Realm in order to protect Olivia until he finds out who her secret source is. His mission changes slightly when the young woman he is after proves to be tempting him in more than one ways! After finding out both of his brothers are also after Olivia, though, things start getting complicated.

And, what about Olivia's dilemma? Is Ronni, her sick best friend, going to be saved only by mating with Chalton? And, how are the two heroes going to take this fact, if that's the case?

A terrific story that doesn't let the reader feel bored, not even for one second!
The action keeps getting more and more intense, through the novella!

A fantastic read, that is a part of the Dark Protectors series, and only left me completely tempted to start these series, too!

All in all, 5 stars to a novella that more than tempted me
to read the rest of the series, as well as other works by the author!

Miracles don’t just happen on 34th Street. They can happen right in your living room—if you’re willing to believe…

What grown woman claims to have seen Santa Claus? Mandy Reese, for one—on a very special Christmas Eve when she was eight years old. These days, Mandy works at a year-round Christmas store in Tall Pine, California, where customers love to hear about her childhood encounter with Saint Nick. But when Jake Wyndham arrives in town—charming, gorgeous, extremely practical—Mandy faces a dilemma. Deny what she saw, or let Jake think she’s sugarplum crazy?

Jake scouts hotel locations all over the country, but he’s never met anyone quite like Mandy before. Her warmth and sparkle are irresistible, but…meeting Santa? Really? Jake’s no Scrooge but he’s definitely skeptical. Then again, there are all kinds of things Jake never experienced until he came to Tall Pine. Like autumn snow. Mind blowing kisses. Mandy had only been to Barrymore’s Steakhouse once before, on an ill-fated date a couple of years ago. Fact: still believing in Santa Claus at the age of twenty-two made even the former high school chess-club champion feel cool by comparison. He’d laughed at her. Then tried to backtrack. The evening had never quite recovered, and she hadn’t gone out with him again.
She wasn’t going to let that happen tonight.
If Jake stayed around very long, it was just a matter of time before he heard she’d seen Santa
Claus. But like Cinderella with her conjured dress and pumpkin coach, Mandy wanted at least one night of being normal. Of not trying to explain herself.
“That’ll be all. Thanks.” Jake handed the menus back to the waiter, a thirtyish blond man she didn’t recognize. It was the main reason she’d chosen this restaurant. At any of the places on Evergreen Lane, someone on the staff was likely to be an old classmate, or one of their siblings. It was a wonder that Mandy hadn’t known the girl who took their order at the Pine ’n’ Dine this afternoon.
“So, I promised you no shoptalk,” Jake said. “Tonight it’s your turn. Has Christmas always been a big deal for you?”
“Always.” If you only knew. “I know some people get tired of it. I’ve just never been one of them.”
“Oh, I think most people like Christmas. It’s just that for most people, once a year is enough.”
“You know, people say that to me all the time. But they still come into the store.” A smile touched her lips. “You did.”
“You’ve got me there.”
Jake had changed into a crisp white shirt with a deep brown tie and a tweedy light brown jacket. Almost like the kind of coat professors were supposed to wear, except that he looked way too young to be a professor. He managed to look dressy and casual at the same time. She knew he’d never been here before, but there was something in the way he sat back from the table that gave the impression of comfort.
Mandy picked up her water glass. “Here’s what I see every day. Some customers are like me. They love it right away. Then there are the ones like you. Their first reaction is, ‘What the heck?’ But they come in a little farther, like they’re trying to figure it out. They look around, they hear the music . . . and it usually happens. They get that Christmas feeling.”
Jake’s eyes glinted. “And they usually buy something.”
“Well, usually. But that’s not the point.”
“Sure it is. The store’s in business to make money.”
“Okay. But what do the customers get out of it?”
When he didn’t reply, she answered for him: “A little piece of Christmas.”
“You’re right. If a business doesn’t supply a benefit, it doesn’t stay in business. But for you, that little piece of Christmas is there twelve months a year. Doesn’t it get . . .”
“Less special? Not for me.” Mandy considered. “The way I see it, those other eleven months out of the year—they’re mine. When the whole world isn’t surrounded by Christmas, and people aren’t so busy getting stressed out about it, they come into The North Pole and just enjoy it. And I get to give them that.”
Jake nodded. He seemed satisfied. Maybe even impressed. “You win.” He picked up his glass of soda. “I’m not a total Scrooge, by the way.”
“Not many people are. It’s just easy to lose sight of Christmas when you’re right in the middle of it. What’s Christmas like for you?”
“Well, it’s the one day of the year I know I won’t be working.”
Mandy flinched. “Seriously?”
“Okay, I’m exaggerating. It’s a couple of days. And I always spend it with my family. It’s . . .” He shook his head with a smile. “Chaos. Complete and utter chaos. My dad calls it the annual invasion.”
That sounded better. “Relatives?”
He nodded. “Two days before Christmas, everyone converges on my parents’ house. And I mean everyone. There’s me, my mom and dad, my older brother and his wife. They have a little girl, Emily. That’s who the pinecone necklace is for. But then there are aunts, uncles, cousins . . . and tons of food. My mom cooks a lot of it, but everyone brings more. There are kids you haven’t seen for a year, so you’re trying to keep everybody’s name straight, what grade they’re in, and who got their braces off, and it doesn’t really matter because you can’t hear a thing.”
“It sounds wonderful.”
“I guess it is.” His gaze drifted past her, and Mandy knew he wasn’t seeing the inside of the restaurant at all. “The only one who’s not making a racket is my dad. He’ll sit in his armchair while everybody’s rushing around. He acts like he thinks everybody else is nuts, but you can tell he loves it. But by the next day, everybody clears out to go to their own homes. My brother and his family usually stay a little later. It’s amazing how much quieter the house seems with only six people in it.”
“And Christmas Eve?”
“Really quiet. Lots of last-minute preparations behind closed doors. Then usually we’ll watch a movie. It’s kind of the calm after the chaos. Then in the morning, we open presents and go out to breakfast. But the best part is all the buildup.”
Mandy nodded. “That’s because when it comes, it’s over so fast.”
“Unless you work at a Christmas store.”
“It helps.”
Jake picked up his drink. “What about you? What do you do for Christmas?”
“A little quieter than that. The last couple of years, I’ve had dinner at Mrs. Swanson’s. She’s the owner of the shop. This year I think I’m going to invite her over instead. I’ve never cooked a turkey by myself before.”
He frowned. “Where’s your family?”
Mandy took in a deep, slow breath. “I lost my mom three years ago. Everybody else is out of state.”
Jake looked startled. He set down his glass. “She couldn’t have been very old. What happened?”
“An aneurysm. One of those things you don’t see coming. She was forty-seven.”
“What about your father?”
“They got divorced when I was eight.” She felt a tight smile cross her face. “He came to the funeral.”
“I’m sorry. I had no idea.”
“Of course you didn’t. You just met me.” She shook her head. “But it’s okay. The thing about my mom . . .” She stirred her iced tea with her straw, aware of Jake’s eyes on her. “She did so much, and I just didn’t realize it. You don’t think about those things when you’re a kid. She must have worked so hard. She worked at the bank up here, so I was a latchkey kid, but when she got home, she always had time for me. She made sure I knew I was important to her. We never had a lot of extra, but we didn’t need much.”
She didn’t go into the rest of it. After her mother died, Mandy found out just how hard her mother had worked to make sure her daughter would be all right. The house was paid off, so it was Mandy’s, free and clear. There had even been an insurance policy for good measure. Not bad for a reluctantly single mother.
Mandy tried to put her finger on what she wanted to say. “I wish I could have had her longer. Of course. But . . . she left me with something. She made me want to make other people happy. Maybe that’s what my job is really about.” Jake studied her, his eyes quiet and direct. She just hoped he didn’t feel sorry for her.
“I’ve never met anyone like you,” he said finally. By the time they left the restaurant, the sky was darkening, and a chill had crept into the air. Mandy slipped her sweater on. As they walked toward the car’s parking spot alongside the curb, Jake took her hand. Her fingers curled around his, and she was surprised how comfortable it felt.
“Still up for a movie?” he asked.
She hesitated for an instant. “Sure.”
Tall Pine Cineplex was the only theater in town. On a Saturday night, there was an awfully good chance she might run into someone from her old school there, and there was no telling where the conversation might go. She’d just have to think on her feet.
Jake stopped and turned her toward him just before they reached the car. “Mandy.”
She hadn’t realized until now just how much taller he was; even in her heeled boots, she needed to tilt her head back to look up at him.
His eyes were fixed on hers in that direct stare she was beginning to know. Now he seemed as close to being uncertain as she’d seen tonight. Somehow, Mandy found that reassuring.
“There’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a while,” he said. “And I’m hoping you won’t mind.”
He stepped down from the curb, taking his height down several inches. He still stood taller than Mandy, but now his mouth was just slightly above hers. Jake lifted his hand and ran a finger lightly down the side of her cheek. There was no mistaking what he meant.
Mandy thought of the way it felt when she jumped into the cold water of the Tall Pine pond on a hot summer day.
I’m not ready for this. . . .
Running his fingers underneath her jawline, Jake tipped her chin up toward him. Her heart was thrumming so loudly she was sure he could hear it.
I haven’t had nearly enough practice at this. . . .
His lips met hers lightly, and Mandy felt something inside melt. She closed her eyes and drank in the warmth, the softness, the nearness. His other hand came up to frame her face. The kiss was gentle, unhurried, and the street around them felt unusually still. It was as if the world had paused.
Oh, I could do a lot more of this.
Her knees were shaking, so she brought her arms up around his waist and held on.
Why had she thought she needed a sweater?
After another long, melting moment, he lifted his head and smiled. “I hope you don’t mind,” he repeated.
Mandy didn’t trust her voice. She nodded. Then shook her head.
She felt light as a feather, and she knew it was too good to be true. She might not turn into a pumpkin at midnight, but this couldn’t last. A little voice in her head nagged her: You know you can’t keep this up, right?
She brushed the little voice aside with, I can try.

If you're looking for a story full of Christmas, look no further! "Do You Believe in Santa" is just the novel for you!

Right from the very beginning, a nice Christmas mood settles in with a guest appearance of the real Santa Claus!

More specifically, Mandy, a young girl, determined to see Santa, stays up all night waiting for him! When she suddenly sees the mysterious and calm aged man, she doesn't believe her eyes! And neither does her mother, or everyone else that finds out about this incident. And, that includes her whole town!

As a grown woman now, Mandy is known to everyone as Mandy Claus, the woman that still believes in Santa. She has devoted her life to Christmas, even working on a store that sells this time of year's ornaments, even in the middle of the summer! She has never had the chance to go out and socialize like the rest of the people her age, as the conversation tends to always revolve around her belief of meeting the real Santa when she was young.

Until Jake, who has come in order to determine whether his company would profit from building a hotel in this little town, shows up. He doesn't know anything about Mandy's past, and he is her first real chance of personal interaction without the burdens of her past!

This is a chance Mandy is very willing to take! But for how long is Jake going to stay in the town? Will the strict Town's Council accept his offer, or he will soon have to go and go back to working in his area?

A perfectly nice Christmas novel, that didn't lack the natural feel and the struggle a new relationship might go through!

Mandy is an adorable character, totally misunderstood and teased throughout her whole childhood for admitting she believed in Santa Claus!
The rest of her life wasn't exactly easy, as well, with the divorce of her parents and later the loss of her mother! All these events have forced her to take refuge in Christmas, with her being unable to put down the decorations even after the holidays have long passed!

She was a very real character! Just like Jake!
He was very professional and loved his job, in a way that bothered his previous girlfriends! But, I love the way he was willing to try and change this fact once he realized his attraction for Mandy!

The way the author wrote this story, it flowed so easily, with all the everyday struggles mingling with the festive Christmas spirit, making everything so sweet!

All in all, 5 stars for an amazing Christmas story,
that featured even the Santa himself! Just lovely!
