On a sweltering summer day, Daisy Aldridge knocks on the wrong door. She’s yanked inside. Trapped and pressed against her only means of escape she spirals into a panic. Years ago she suffered an assault. Alone and afraid, she kept it hidden and dealt with the emotional aftermath in her own way.

But this time she’s not alone. She’s helped by a man who seems vaguely familiar. Roy Blackwood is gorgeous, powerful, and controlled. She tells herself she wants nothing to do with him.

Roy sees through her resistance and is determined to unravel the mysteries of Daisy. He promises to find the identity of her birth parents and unveil the person who leaves her anonymous gifts. And most important of all, earn the love and trust of Daisy Aldridge.

My review:

Before I get on with my review, I would like to say just one word... Roy.
That man honestly made me remember why I love my occasional romance novel.

But, first things first.
The story starts with a delivery Daisy is making to a movie set and is nearly assaulted, until Roy heroically saves her.
And, their romance just launches from there.

At some points in the beginning, it seemed to me like Daisy and Roy's romance was almost non-existent, and at some others going almost too fast.
However, that definitely did not stop me from emerging myself into it once it got off.

What I really liked about this book was the fact that not everything was outright given to us.
Instead, Daisy's backstory, her scars and the secrets she was hiding were slowly revealed, making the heroine even more mysterious for us readers, too.
And, this is exactly what made this book stand out to me and make me devour it as quickly as I possibly could.

And, do not get me started about the even more mysterious Roy, whose ways charmed me along with Daisy. Beware though, as Mr Lethal has his own secrets, too...

Anyway, my interest was spiked even more when the quest to find Daisy's parents - as well as its twists and turns - really started.

Another reason I loved this novel was the way it was written. It is so easy to read and smoothly progressing, you just can't resist reading it in one sit.

I do not want to spoil any dark secrets or to ruin the mystery element by saying more, so I will just leave my review here, by saying that I definitely recommend this exquisite novel to fans of New Adult Mysteries, with a - pretty generous - dash of hot romance in it.

All in all, 4 stars for this brand new and utterly hot release,
with a strong, realistic heroine I loved figuring out along the way.
