This was quite a hilarious and exhilarating read!
Emerson Knight is a rich and quite eccentric man, that at first seemed to me like a cartoon hero. Apart from his peculiar attitude, though, he is quite brilliant, and has a love for mysteries.
When Riley Moon is sent to his mansion as a representative of her company, she doesn't have the slightest idea that she will get dragged headfirst into a deep mystery that revolves around her bosses, some powerful men, and a lot of gold.
Emerson and Riley's adventures begin in a sudden way but they are full of action, arrests and Emerson's humour, which made me laugh out loud in quite many occasions throughout the book.
It was a really interesting and quick read, and the mystery made me constantly question every person's involvement and guiltiness.
Emerson was hilarious and eccentric, Riley was serious and wanted only to get further with her job, but the pair of them was just so unique.
And, while not much romantic stuff took place between them, their chemistry was too visible at some points.
I would really want to keep reading these series, and learn more about the mysteries the duo is going to solve, so humorously and maybe a little dangerously, too!
The writing was flawless, and it wasn't obvious that there was a pair of writers, instead of just one.
It made me want to read more of these authors!
All in all, 4 stars for a quick read full of
humor, adventure and (sexy) kick-ass characters.
